Chester, Vermont is recognized by the Culture Trip as one of the 10 most beautiful towns in Vermont. This comes several months after Chester, VT was recognized as one of the top ten “Prettiest Painted Places in America” and “THE Prettiest Painted Village in New England”. WOW!!!
One can see why Chester is recognized as such; after all, Chester is an historical village of the early 1700″s, maintains its historical buildings, has a beautiful village green, a huge cemetery in the village center bestowing elements of days gone by from “Cemetery
Beautiful”, has an adjoining smaller village known as the “Stone village” (a village of stone built homes, schoolhouse and church built in the early 1700’s by two brothers. All are in good shape today and used as private residences. The church has an active congregation).
Located in the center of South-Central Vermont and the Okemo Valley Region, this quintessential New England village is like stepping back in time. One may easily walk out of the front door of any of the 11 B&B’s in the village and walk to a restaurant, hike or snowshoe trails, sled down the village groomed sledding hill, ice skate on the town manicured rink, or simply walk the tranquil streets.
We love this place; called home!
