Scottish Cider in Vermont

MacLaomainns Scottish Pub in Chester, Vermont is well known for the finest ale in New England, a pint of Belhaven.  What could be better; you ask?  Thistly Cross, an Award-winning Scottish Cider.
Penny and I were very pleasantly surprised this week when the Head Cidermaker of Thistly Cross Cider of Dunbar, Scotland (Peter Stuart) arrived for a night stay at Inn Victoria.

Peter was traveling the states with his US distributor from JK Scrumpy’s to promote his award-winning cider.  Offering us a night of tastings at the Pub, Penny and I, along with a B&B full of happy guests, walked down to MacLaomainns Scottish Pub and had a very FUN night of beer and wine tastings.

The Thistly Cross Cider-shed sits on the Belhaven Fruit Farm in between the fishing village of Dunbar and the market town of Haddington, Scotland.  The cider operation is directly across the road from the Belhaven Ale operations.

The product range includes the Original Scottish cider; the lighter Traditional cider; the stunning real Strawberry cider; the zingy hand-pressed fresh Ginger cider; the smooth Whiskey cask matured cider and the low-alcohol but still mighty Elderflower cider.

Coming to Chester, Vermont soon?…stop in at MacLaomainns Scottish Pub for a taste of Thistly Cross Cider and enjoy a great evening!
